The Knights of Colubus was established in 1882 by Fr. Michael McGivney to bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and need parishioners and their families. The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization open to Catholic men aged 18+.
The Our Lady of the Black Hills Council, 7079, serves the parish of Our Lady of the Black Hills and the community of the Black Hills in many ways. Some of our biggest missions of charity include:
Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids distributed to children utilizing the Piedmont Valley Food Pantry.
The Council collects money through the bottle program, filling baby bottles with change for the Black Hills Pregnancy Center. To date the OLBH Knights of Columbus have purchased three ultra sound machines.
Council 7079 aids the widows and orphans in the community with projects such as moving, small repair projects, etc.
Our Knights lead the Rosary during the month of May, make breakfast monthly to raise funds for charitable work, support the youth of the parish, and work as tireless advocates for the Church through various ministries at OLBH.
