What is YES!?

YES! is a program where high school age youth gather to engage in the process of lectio divina.

What is lectio divina?

Lection divina is a spiritual reading of the Bible.

Isn’t every reading of the Bible spiritual?

Not necessarily. Lectio divina is a quiet and reflective form of prayer that uses scripture. It gives us a chance to slow down and listen to God with the “ears of our hearts”.

This whole lection divina thing sounds boring. Why should I try it?

Lectio divina isn’t meant to be as exciting as a Friday night basketball game at your school. It's meant to be a prayerful experience that will help you become more aware of God’s presence and will. YES! will teach you how to use lection divina to do just that.
