ALL YOUTH IN GRADES 9-12 IN NOVEMBER, 2003, ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THIS GREAT EVENT FOR TEENS. IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN UP!

Contact: Pat Roe, Youth Ministry Coordinator, 787-5168 ext. #3 or Contact Pat

SUMMER PROGRAM

The plan is to continue to gather on Wednesday nights and other times throughout the summer months. These gatherings will be a variety of things:

As always one person cannot do all of these things so if you like being with young people and would like to help with any of these gatherings, please contact Pat Roe 787-5168 ext. #3 or Contact Pat. This is what comprehensive youth ministry is about - everyone sharing their gifts, talents, and/or hobbies with our young people.

CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP CAMP

June 16-20, 2003, 10 of our teens and 2 adults will travel to Collegeville, Minnesota, to attend the Region VIII Christian Leadership Institute at St. John's University. Region VIII is made up of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

Each summer the youth ministers from the dioceses in these states put on a week-long learning experience for high school youth. The young people will learn leadership skills, group dynamics, team building, etc.

These 10 youth have made a 2-year commitment to OLBH in return for this experience. They will be instrumental in the planning and implementation of youth ministry in the parish.

The cost of the camp is only $200 per person. If the young people help with fundraising the church has promised to pay for ½ of each persons fees.

30-HOUR FAMINE

March 28 & 29, 2003, was the time for nineteen of our young people and six adults to live on clear liquids and sleep in boxes for 30 hours in the hope of raising money for World Vision and the local Love INC of the Black Hills.

These people stopped eating at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 28th. They gathered together at OLBH at 5 p.m. and cook the soup supper for the people attending the Stations of the Cross. On Saturday, they split into groups to do various service projects around the area:

Some of the seniors of the Class of 2003 and Fr. Mark prepared the "break-fast" meal on Saturday night. (Fr. Mark fasted as well).

The group raised over $1,000.
